This puzzled
puss is Lucy Hall, a newly discovered, long-lost, distant relative from
Kilgaroy, Queensland, Australia. Lucy's devoted person (Linda) relates -
" Lucy is a lilac Burmese - who we love dearly, and who is personality
plus!!! They are an interesting breed, remaining playful into old age (we
have lost a number of breakable things around the house and had net curtains
turned to shreds)!! They can be trained to fetch (everything she takes a
fancy to ends up on the dining room couch, including things bigger than
herself)!!! taken for walks on leads but can not be let outside alone because
they have no sense of self preservation and are usually run over. As we live
on a corner we take especial care she does not get out. She is about 8 months
old now and killed her first mouse 2 days ago. Being Lucy it was not just any
mouse, but my computer mouse!!! When I work on the computer she always keeps
me company by sitting on top of the tower. I was doing some work, got called
away and when I got back my cursor was stuck and nothing I did would move it.
Tried restarting the computer with no luck and was just about to call our
computer fixit person when I decided to check the port attachment. It was
loose - Lucy's foot must have slipped, knocking it loose and detaching it. If
you knew Lucy, it is really typical that her first mouse kill would be a
computer mouse - she is a real showoff and converts even the cat haters into
wanting to take her home!! Needless to say - she is horribly spoilt, but
gives back what she gets!! Basically it is like having a 2 yr old child in
the house at all times!! "

This cute
little chap on the right is Ralph and he lives in the same house as Lucy.
Linda says "He's a little Australian Sydney Silkie and so gentle with
everyone and everything, and he does put up with a lot from Lucy!
He turned up at our front door one night in the middle of a fierce storm,
(with large gashes in his side) and made himself at home, after we attended
to his injuries. Inquiries found he had come from next door. Ralph had
belonged to nextdoors parents, but since they got older they weren't able to
care for him, so he had taken him in. However as he had 6 pig dogs (which had
attacked Ralph) he really didn't want him, so he came to us, and has been
with us for the last five years. He is lying at my feet as I type this."
Thank goodness for happy endings!
