Lovely view from the window!

After the rather strenuous trip to Nepal in 1999, Mistral decided upon a rather more relaxing trip to a villa near Siena for a short summer break in the year 2000.
But things don't always turn out as planned! Somehow, a whirlwind tour of Rome, a visit to Florence taking in all the sights (complete with torrential rain and thunder and lightning), numerous visits to vineyards, as well as the ascent of a great many very high and scary towers, all crept into the itinerary!

Mistral and a Vatican guard.

Above, you can see the amazing view from a window in the villa. To the left, Mistral is attempting to get a better look at one of the Vatican guards - and being completely ignored for his trouble!
Luckily, he did not fall off that bollard thing but it was rather a big jump down so he won't be going up there again in a hurry, that's for sure!

Mistral and Jaco on a bridge in Rome

Mistral and Jaco can be seen here sitting on a bridge in Rome, with the Castel Sant'Angelo in the background.
It was a very high bridge and Mistral quite sensibly kept very close to Jaco, just in case of any nasty mishaps!

Michelangelo's David and Mistral

No need to tell you what this is, surely?
Mistral's companions, although occasionally inclined to be a teeny bit cynical and easily unimpressed, were quite overwhelmed by Michelangelo's David and urge you all to go and see it as soon as possible!

Mistral and Susie on a very high rock!

Here is Mistral with Susie, this time surveying the view from a very high rock (actually the Hermitage in the Cetinale estate).
Mistral is a bit uncertain as to why some people need to climb every high thing they happen to come across although it does seem to keep them wonderfully amused. It's just a bit scary though, if you happen to be a small toy horse!

Now, you can either go back to Nepal 1999 have a look at Barcelona 2001 or maybe you should just switch off your computer and go and do something useful?
