go back to idle curiosity

It seems such a long time since Mistral began his memorable musings way back in 1999!

The much heralded new century is new no more.

Who now remembers the prophets of doom who predicted global meltdown at the stroke of midnight on 31 December 1999?

They have long since redirected their predictive talents to the forcasting of ever more gloom and doom, as if the aftermath of the very many unpredictable disasters is not depressing enough for the world to cope with?

But there are many things to be happy about, are there not?

Here are but a few to remind us that all is not bad in the world…………………

  1. The new Dr Who series.  “It couldn't have been better if I’d written it myself”  commented an obscure acquaintance of Mistral who can actually remember the first series.
  2.
  3.
